Domino was given to Jean as his starter Pokemon. While he treated her somewhat coldly at first, she was determined to become a reliable friend to Jean. By remaining steadfastly at his side, she wormed her way into his good graces and gained his trust and warmth. She enjoys traveling, and prefers not to be in her Pokeball.
Now that she's evolved, she's become quite proud of her power, and seeks to prove herself to Jean at nearly every opportunity. She's kindled an intense rivalry with Blaze due to their similarities. She doesn't want to be outdone by anyone on the team.
This Pokémon flies at Mach 2 speed, seeking prey. Its large talons are feared as wicked weapons.
Jean caught Penny right after he'd first arrived. Since his starter was Electric type, she was easy pickings, to the point where he felt kind of bad about it. But Penny turned out to be a trooper. She was a bit overweight when she was a Pidgey, so her roundness and her copper color inspired her name.
She quickly grew into a Pokemon that impressed Jean. Due to his experiences in this home world, he has a bit of a bias towards Flying types. Once fully evolved, Penny became one of the fastest and agile out there. He admires her mastery of the sky.
It can take down any opponent with its powerful poison stingers. It sometimes attacks in swarms.
Prick was originally found rooting through Jean's bag for food only a few days after he had first arrived in the Pokemon world. Jean called it a prick when it stung him while he tried to get it out, and the name just sort of... stuck. It's pretty fitting, since even after a full evolution, Prick likes to pick fights and sting indiscriminately. Still, he and Jean have developed a mutual respect. Mostly because sticking around Jean means that Prick gets a steady source of challenging battle to occupy himself.

He was far more loyal and dedicated than any dog Jean had ever worked with, and he never shied away from training, even when he might be outmatched.

Caught at: Mt Ember (level 15); November 19th, 2019
Very competitive, this Pokémon will chase anything that moves fast in the hopes of racing it. When at an all-out gallop, its blazing mane sparkles, enhancing its beautiful appearance.
Jean spent time camping in Mt Ember to train his Pokemon, and more specifically, find a Ponyta to catch. He was enamored with the species, and the cool appeal of a Fire type Pokemon. Once caught, Jean spoiled Blaze, and concentrated on training him into a Rapidash as soon as possible.
This slight act of favoritism caused a rivalry to spark between Blaze and Domino. The two are constantly at odds, either battling or racing to test their mettle. It's made them both much stronger Pokemon, but sometimes, it's hard to keep them in line when they should be cooperating. Jean definitely has his hands full whenever they're both out of their Pokeballs at the same time.
Seviper's swordlike tail serves two purposes—it slashes foes and douses them with secreted poison. This Pokémon will not give up its long-running blood feud with Zangoose.
Fang hatched from a special egg that Jean received after the raid on Aether Paradise that was guaranteed to have a shiny in it. He had no idea what kind of Pokemon would be inside, but the hatch turned out to be rather fortuitous. He and Fang share a common thread in deep-seated rivalry with a Certain Someone and an antagonistic nature. They get along with each other very well, even if they don't always get along with others...
This Pokémon reigns supreme in the skies of the Galar region. The black luster of its steel body could drive terror into the heart of any foe.
Chess is Jean's most reliable Pokemon. The most even-tempered and focused of his entire crew, he can rely on her to always take commands and never get headstrong or stubborn during battle. She's also very patient, and more than willing to soak damage or play as a wall to outlast her opponents.
She gets along very well with Penny the Pidgeot, despite the fact that they often vie for a spot in his combat team, depending on who they're challenging. They spur each other on without being at each other's throats like Domino and Blaze are.

Although it obeys its instinctive drive to destroy everything within its reach, it will respond to orders from a Trainer it truly trusts.
Finn is a very unusual Gyarados. While she loves fighting and destruction as much as any other of her species, there's one thing she loves even more: Jean. She can't help but try and show her affection whenever she's out of her Pokeball by trying to cuddle him, but that's near to impossible when every part of a Gyarados is sharp and rough. She's cut Jean with her scales more than a few times while fawning over him like a puppy.
Jean has no idea how it happened. He was careful with her as a Magikarp because of all the horror stories he'd heard of Gyarados turning on their trainers when they evolve, but that alone can't explain her sweet disposition. He's kind of glad though, since she's much easier to handle like this.
A master of courtesy and swordsmanship, it fights using extending swords on its elbows. Because it can sense what its foe is thinking, its attacks burst out first, fast, and fierce.
Jean was inspired to get his own Gallade after meeting Shiro's Blue-- While that Pokemon was a bit of a character, his battling ability was undeniable. He was able to catch his own Ralts while en route to his first Gym Challenge with Misty.
What it came to personality, Sabre turned out to be nothing like Blue (thankfully). From day one he was a Pokemon that took training very seriously and worked both diligently and without prompting. When he was still a Kirlia he would spent long hours in meditation to sharpen his psychic skills.
After the Prom, Jean traded the Cover Fossil he found in the catacombs with Armin for a Dawn Stone, which he used to evolve Sabre immediately. As a Gallade, he now enjoys practicing sword skills with Jean and seeking out opponents that can challenge his abilities. Jean has high hopes for this future.
Edge the Aegislash ♂ OT: Jean Kirstein Level: 100 Type: Steel/Ghost Egg group: Mineral Ability: Stance Change Nature: Naughty Moveset:

Met at: Pokeprom, Galar Mansion (Level 10); April, 2020
Once upon a time, a king with an Aegislash reigned over the land. His Pokémon eventually drained him of life, and his kingdom fell with him.
Edge is one of Jean's truly troublesome Pokemon-- the ghost has a mischievous nature and is constantly getting into hijinks, mostly revolving around his bad habit of draining the life out of things on impulse, whether that be random bystanders, wild Pokemon, other Pokemon on the team, or Jean himself. He's constantly breaking out of his Pokeball while Jean isn't looking to sneak away and drain some poor Rattata or Pidgey of it's energy for an afternoon snack.
The only Pokemon that's able to keep Edge in any sort of order is Sabre. He approaches Edge with such civility and manner that the Aegislash can't help but play fair when they train. The fact that they have perfectly opposing types means that they get into really intense battles, but it always leaves the both of them so tired that they behave for the rest of the day. So Jean makes sure Edge gets plenty of training in in order to keep him in check.
Even after evolving, it has kept its mischevious streak.

Having removed its heavy shell, it becomes very light and can fight with ninja-like movements.
Jean actually didn't know how Shelmet and Karrablast evolve when he brought them onto the team, since he caught them both in preparation for taking on Sabrina thinking they'd be good Bug Types... Then he read the Dex and found out about the peculiar method. Since there wasn't any downside to evolving them, he traded them back and forth with a friend ASAP before continuing their training.
Puck is fast. Really, really fast. She seems to operate at a speed that humans just can't comprehend, to the point that Jean thinks time is a totally different concept to her than it is to him. She tends to rush off, reacting to things that Jean hasn't even noticed, and he often has a hard time reining her in. This can make battling occasionally difficult, as his commands can often come too late to be useful to her, but it's something they're working on, usually by talking strategy beforehand so she at least has a prior set of instructions she can work with.

No matter how strong the Bisharp, it's said that if the blade on its head is chipped, it will retire from its position as the boss.
Jean found Rook as a Pawniard that had been driven from it's pack for receiving a large chip in it's head-blade. She was in bad shape, and had a poor attitude, but consistent battling seemed to be the rehabilitation she required. While she retained the chip into her evolution, she wears it proudly.
Like all of her species, Rook is a ruthless opponent. As a way to compensate for her permanent injury, she is a relentless strategist, and enjoys playing chess. She can beat Jean reliably now, and will challenge anyone else willing to play to sharpen her skills.
Met at: Fuchsia City (level 25); October 31st, 2020
This Pokémon cares deeply about others of its kind, and it will conjure terrifying illusions to keep its den and pack safe.
Jean met Shade on Halloween, where she had taken the form of a child trick-or-treating. She asked him for candy, and when he didn't have any to give, she led him on a rather elaborate illusion through alleys and behind buildings until he was hopelessly lost. When he began to think he might be under some sort of spell, he had his Lycanroc use Odor Sleuth to find the source of the problem. Zorua can't mask their smell!
He found a rather lonely Zorua underneath the illusion. She seemed a little too young to be away from her mother, but her pack was nowhere to be found. She was easy to catch, but gaining her trust has taken time. Jean has never taken care of a Pokemon like that before, so she's taught him some valuable lessons.
When battling, her illusions are top notch. Jean really likes figuring out how to use her ability best in tandem with his other Pokemon, and often has her use moves that the Pokemon she was copying could possibly have to keep up the confusion as long as possible.
Stag the Sawsbuck ♂ OT: Jean Kirstein Level: 100 Type: Grass Egg group: Field Ability: Sap Sipper Nature: Gentle Moveset:

The plants growing on its horns change according to the season. The leaders of the herd possess magnificent horns.
Jean caught Stag very deliberately, as he badly needed a Grass type to fill out his team's weakness against Ground types. He's happy to be on the team, although he's a lot more peaceful than Jean's other Pokemon, so he doesn't always like to train. Jean tries not to push him too hard, and it's definitely a learning experience for him. He's not used to doing things on other people's (or Pokemon's) schedules.
Stag is also a handsome example of a Grass Pokemon, and catches the attention of a lot of females in the same Egg Group. He's beautiful and he knows it.

When battling, her illusions are top notch. Jean really likes figuring out how to use her ability best in tandem with his other Pokemon, and often has her use moves that the Pokemon she was copying could possibly have to keep up the confusion as long as possible.
Stag
Date: 2020-11-22 12:04 am (UTC)Stag the Sawsbuck ♂
OT: Jean Kirstein
Level: 100
Type: Grass
Egg group: Field
Ability: Sap Sipper
Nature: Gentle
Moveset:
Met at: Viridian Forest (level 15); November, 2020
